P O no longer operates in Cherbourg but they also want to stop activities in the port of Le Havre. Channel traffic between France and England represents 2 million tonnes of freight and 7 to 800 000 passengers and a 100 jobs at Le Havre. The port of Le Havre is looking for a new operator. At the ports of Cherbourg and Caen, Brittany Ferry has started using a high speed ship the Incat – Evolution 10 model of a total capacity of 900 passengers and 280 cars. At Cherbourg, the Cherbourg-Rosslare service was taken over by Celtic Line. At Dunkerque, Norfolk line will be starting up a service using new ships with a capacity of 780 passengers and 120 trucks and 200 cars.
